Pavao Masic was born 10.10. 1980 in Šibenik (CROATIA), town rich with many historical instruments, where he started his musical education. He studied organ with Mario Penzar and harpsichord with Višnja Mažuran at Zagreb Academy of Music, and continued further organ studies (solistic diploma) at Conservatoire-HEM de Lausanne with Kei Koito, as well as harpsichord studies (MA) at Musikhochschule- Freiburg im Breisgau in the harpsichord class of prof. dr. Robert Hill. He participated in numerous courses of organ and harpsichord interpretation with Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Daniel Roth, Michael Gailit, Christoph Bossert, Ton Koopman, Katherine Bine Bryndorf, Robert Hill, Laurence Cummings, Bob van Asperen, Pierre Hantai, Skip Sempé.
He is the winner of first prizes at international organ competitions including the Andrea Antico da Montona (2006) and Grand Prix Bach de Lausanne (2006). He also won prestigious Croatian awards such as Special Prize of Rector of Zagreb University for his harpsichord debút in Zagreb Concert Hall (2005) and Jeunesse Musicale Award Ivo Vuljevic for the best young musician in 2006.
He participates regulary in various festivals of organ and baroque music in Croatia and abroad (Europe, Russia). With much success he premiered Carillon, a concerto for great organ and symphonic orchestra by Ante Knesaurek, talented croatian composer of younger generation, with Zagreb Philharmonics in 2006. He collaborates regularly with many soloists, ensembles and orchestras as organist or harpsichordist. He is the main organist in the ancient Zagreb Church of St.Marc since 1999. Since 2008 he holds the post of assistant to prof. Mažuran, teaching harpsichord and basso continuo at Zagreb Academy of Music.
